From Taki

Kiri-Maree took me to Costa Rica last year and I didn't want to come home. So this July, I'm bringing all of you.

We work in the mornings, play in the afternoons, and hang long into the night. Bring one idea home and you'll stop counting what the trip cost.

Why this one's different

Not a room block.
The whole resort.

July is peak season on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Every resort big enough for us wanted the business and none of them would hold rooms. The only way they'd do it was if we took every room. So we did.

No day guests. No wedding at the next pool. No stranger at breakfast. Every face you see is a coach, their family, their team, our family or our team. Nine restaurants, every pool, a beach made of crushed shells, closed to the public for the week.

Early bird
Gets Taki.

Pay your stay in full by Monday 30 November and you're in a closed-door session with Taki on the Sunday afternoon — before the mixer, before the week starts, before anyone else has unpacked.

Intimate room. No slides. Bring the thing that's been costing you money and let Taki get his hands on it. It isn't on the agenda and you can't buy a seat — it's only for the people who booked first.

1
The Sunday session

A closed-door afternoon with Taki, early birds only.

2
The pre-event call

A group call with Taki before you fly, so you land ready.

3
First dibs on the upgrades

You're at the front of the queue for the upgraded suites now. And if any are still unsold close to the event, early birds get moved up first — free.

The Westin Reserva Conchal, Costa Rica

The week

Mornings in the room.
Afternoons on the beach.

Three mornings that change your business. Three afternoons that are yours — the beach, the pool, the boat, the spa, your people. And every night, somewhere good to eat and someone good to eat it with.

Costa Rica resort welcome
Sun 18 July

Land. Unpack. Drink in hand.

Check in, find the beach, find your people. The welcome mixer kicks off at sunset on the deck — cocktails, a proper spread, the whole community and their families together for the first time. Early birds: your session with Taki is this afternoon.

Session three. Then the awards dinner.

The last morning with the whole community — the one you leave with a plan. Tonight's the awards dinner: your family's invited, the babysitters are booked, and somebody's getting a new belt.

Questions

The usual ones

Which airport?

Liberia (LIR), Guanacaste. The resort is about 45 minutes from the airport. Fly into San José (SJO) and you're looking at a 4–5 hour drive, so don't.

When do I need to arrive and leave?

Get in on Sunday 18 July for the welcome mixer. Thursday is the adventure day, and you check out Friday 23 July by noon. Check-in from 3pm.

What's actually included in my stay?

Your room and the resort's all-inclusive, for everyone in your room: every breakfast, lunch and dinner across nine restaurants, the drinks in the all-inclusive, snacks, room service, the pools, the beach, non-motorised water sports, the gym, tennis, the kids' club and Wi-Fi. Optional extras such as spa treatments, golf, premium spirits and the wine list, tours, motorised water sports and laundry are charged by the hotel if you choose them. Flights, airport transfers and travel insurance are yours. The MDC programme and evenings are part of your membership.

How is the price worked out?

Your stay is our group rate with the resort for your room category, times your nights. Upgrades are the difference between categories at the same group rate. Adding people to your room is priced per person, per night, under our group pricing. One price, everything in.

What's the early bird?

Pay your stay in full by Monday 30 November and you get a closed-door session with Taki on the Sunday afternoon, a group pre-event call with him, and first dibs on the upgraded suites — if any are still unsold close to the event, early birds get moved up first, free. Same price — you just pay it in full. The early bird benefits stay with you; they don't pass on if you transfer your booking.

How do I pay?

Pay in full, or pay 50% when you book and the other 50% is charged to the same card on 28 February 2027. From 1 March it's pay-in-full only. Bookings close at 5pm Sydney on Friday 25 June — that's also the last day for transfers and changes — and the rooming list goes to the resort.

Can I bring my life partner and kids?

Yes — please do. Add them to your room when you book. They get the whole resort every day, plus the two guest functions — the welcome mixer and the awards dinner (subject to change) — with babysitters on both nights so you can stay out. The sessions, the other MDC dinners and the off-site days are for registered attendees.

Can I bring my business partner and team?

Yes. Your equity business partner registers and books the Boardroom Stay. Your team members register and book the Black Belt Stay — they're in the Black Belt sessions with you and fly home Thursday, while you stay on for the adventure day and the Boardroom dinner. Life partners and kids are added to your booking. Need more than one room? Book as many as you need.

Does my business partner or team need their own room?

Yes. Every attendee — members, equity business partners and team — registers individually and books their own room. Life partners and kids are added to your booking when you make it. You can book more than one room if you need to.

Can I change my booking later?

Yes, until 5pm Sydney on 25 June. Your confirmation email has a link to manage your booking — add someone to your room, change names or bed preference, upgrade, update your card, or transfer the booking to another registered attendee. Removing someone or downgrading your room isn't refunded.

What if I need to cancel?

Bookings are non-refundable, subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. You can transfer yours to any eligible attendee at no cost. Otherwise we put your room on a waitlist and refund you if it resells — but only once every unsold room in your category is gone. Resale isn't guaranteed, which is why travel insurance is required.

What if my membership ends before July?

If your membership ends, or isn't financial at the time of the Intensive, your booking is treated as cancelled — no refund, but you can transfer it to another eligible attendee or waitlist your room. Stay a member. It's a good deal.

Refunds, fees and currency

Everything is charged in USD. Any refund that is due goes back in USD to the card that paid. We don't add card surcharges or admin fees; your bank may charge a foreign transaction fee, which is yours.

Can I come early or stay longer?

Book extra nights directly with the Westin. The group rate applies to the Intensive nights only, and the hotel may need to move you to a different room for the extra nights.

What's the weather like in July?

Warm. Around 30°C (86°F) by day, high twenties at night, with the chance of an afternoon shower that clears quickly. Guanacaste is the dry side of the country. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and one layer for the evenings.

Do I need a visa?

Australians, New Zealanders, Americans, Canadians, Brits and most Europeans don't need a visa for Costa Rica. If you're transiting the US to get there, you'll need an ESTA. Check your own passport before you book flights.

Step one

Are you in?

Register for the Intensive, then book your room — straight away, or from the link we email you.
